2026-07-22 12:00:00Z Jul. 22, 2026 Cindy Wilcox Tompkins County SNAP Work Group Jul. 22, 2026 12:00 p.m.

How does a community come together to navigate sweeping federal changes? Learn about the SNAP Work Group, a collaborative initiative formed in response to new federal requirements for Able-Bodied Adults Without Dependents (ABAWD).

When federal rules changed, threatening to impact SNAP eligibility for many local residents, a coalition of human services organizations, the Tompkins County Department of Social Services (DSS), workforce development partners, and community advocates convened to create a robust, systemic response.

Join us to hear how Tompkins County has leveraged partnership and innovation to ensure residents stay connected to vital nutrition support.

Lunch is $25. All are welcome.

How do we create a more resilient, accessible, and sustainable food system for our community? Join us for an engaging presentation from the Food Bank of the Southern Tier on Tompkins Food Future, our local food policy council.

In this session, Sarah JP DeFrank (Director of Advocacy & Education) and Katie Hallas (Food Systems Manager) will provide an inside look at how this council brings together diverse stakeholders to address the challenges facing our local food landscape. Whether you are interested in community health, economic development, or simply the future of food in our region, this presentation will offer valuable insights into the power of collaborative food policy.

We look forward to a thoughtful discussion on how we can work together to build a hunger-free community.

Lunch is $25. All are welcome.
