This trio combines their unique styles, warmth, and talent. Margaret Wakeley, a former solo and cabaret singer, now narrates audiobooks and is the mother of X Ambassadors' members. Molly MacMillan, a jazz pianist, remains an Ithaca favorite, performing with various groups and releasing jazz CDs. Alice Saltonstall, a vocal performance major, rediscovered her passion for singing through vocal improvisation. See them at LAFF!

Each member of this remarkable trio is a star in her own right, and the combination of styles, repertoire, warmth, and talent is a constellation!

Margaret Wakeley (vocals) worked throughout the 70’s and 80’s as a solo performer throughout the United States and Europe, and recorded two vinyl records of original songs, Better Days and Margaret Wakeley. She eventually became a cabaret singer with proper jazz musicians backing her up (primarily Molly MacMillan!); released two CDs - Perfect Strangers and Quality Times; and performed cabarets for countless benefits. She worked for 13 years on the web team of the international non-profit Gratefulness.org. And after working over 40 years doing commercial voice-overs, she now narrates and produces audiobooks for Audible. Her biggest claim to fame is being the proud mom of 2/3 of the band, X Ambassadors.

Molly MacMillan, (piano, vocals) received a music degree at Ithaca College, and fortunately for us, remained in Ithaca to become known as one of the area's foremost jazz pianists. She plays with the Hotfoot Club, the Molly MacMillan trio, and is delighted to join with Alice and Margaret for today's performance. Her CDs of jazz standards and original tunes, "Happy Our" and "Face the Mountain" are available from www.watershed-arts.com.

Alice Saltonstall (vocals) grew up in Ithaca, and was a vocal performance major at Syracuse University, joining the vocal jazz ensemble where she found her true comfort zone! After music school she studied voice a bit more, then married and had 4 children who she'd sing to sleep! A long hiatus from performing ensued. In 2007 she met vocal improvisation master, Rhiannon, who changed her musical life and filled her with the magic of improvisation! Alice co-founded the vocal improv ensemble Ephemera.

They love to sing together!   Their most recent concert was entitled "What the World Needs Now"...
