Rotarians at Work
Rotarian Joe Cassaniti selects children's books at the Friends of the Library booksale, as part of the Ithaca Rotary Club's Books for the World project. Over 1100 books were purchased on Saturday, May 18, all of which will be shipped to English speaking countries such as South Africa where books are in high demand.
The Ithaca Rotary Club collected 3800 books in the past week which will be shipped to South Africa and other English speaking countries.
Since its inception in 2010, the club has collected and shipped almost

The project is now spreading in Tompkins County, with both the the Lansing-Ithaca Rotary Club collaborating with the Lansing Central School District; and the Dryden Rotary Club partnering with Dryden Central Schools to collect surplus textbooks.
