This special luncheon program offers a unique opportunity to hear directly from the leader of one of the world’s most respected universities right here in our own community.
The cost to attend is $25, which includes lunch and access to this timely and engaging conversation. Please RSVP using this form if you are not yet an Ithaca Rotary member.
Why This Event Matters
Cornell University plays a central role in the life of Ithaca and the broader Finger Lakes region. As one of the area’s largest employers, a global research institution, and a cultural anchor, Cornell’s influence extends far beyond campus boundaries. Decisions made at the university affect local housing, economic development, workforce trends, innovation, sustainability efforts, and the overall character of our community.
Hearing directly from President Kotlikoff offers Rotary members and guests a valuable chance to better understand where Cornell is headed and what that direction means for Ithaca.

About President Michael I. Kotlikoff
President Kotlikoff became Cornell’s 15th acting president in 2024, bringing with him decades of experience as a scholar, administrator, and leader. A veterinarian and biomedical researcher by training, he previously served as Cornell’s provost, where he oversaw academic programs, research initiatives, faculty development, and long-term strategic planning.
Known for his collaborative leadership style and focus on innovation, President Kotlikoff has emphasized strengthening Cornell’s public-private mission, expanding interdisciplinary research, and deepening engagement with communities across New York State and beyond.
This program will offer insight not only into Cornell’s academic future, but also into how the university sees its role as a partner in regional progress.
