Solving real problems takes real commitment and vision. Guests — Erin Graham Bates, guest of Frank Towner and a pending new member, is a dentist with Integrated Oral Health. She and her husband recently relocated from Colorado Springs, Colo., where she was a member of the North Colorado Springs Rotary Club. Jessica Verfuss was the guest Geoff Dunn and also is a pending new member. Jessica is Deputy Director of the Tompkins County Department of Emergency Response. Welcome Erin and Jessica! We look forward to the day we can meet you in person!
- Rotary Harvest is in full swing and Heidi Goldstein put out a call for more volunteers for last Saturday’s farmers market.
- Jo-Ellen Hedlund reported that our District Governor Evan Kurtz was unaware that our club was now meeting through Zoom. Mary Berens noted that Rotary club signs around the Ithaca area were not accurately reflecting our normal meeting location. Brian Wilber said he will work up a status report.
- Ron Provus said that World of Skills Job Fair organizer, Jorge T. Cuevas, was still in need of volunteers for the event that is taking place today, August 25th.
- Joe Giordano has open slots for September speakers. The theme is Human Services.
- Frank Towner for a group family photo including all the grandchildren.
- Mary Berens for her wedding anniversary trip to Corning and catching up with Rotarian Jessie Ripple who moved to Wisconsin to be closer to her daughter.
- Roger Segelken for “happy stories” shared by both sets of cousins on a NJ road trip.
