Stacy McNeil gave some Salvation Army updates. There was some negative press recently, and she reassured the group that their mission remains unwavering. They still are serving meals 7 days a week, and have hired a new outreach coordinator. She thanked her Rotary friends for their support.

Mary Berens shared that we’re 72% to our goal of 300 tickets sold for Dozen Dinner Draw. 216 have been purchased and we still have 3 weeks to go. Please buy yours now! And tell your friends!

Thought for the Day

George Ferrari gave thoughts in recognition of MLK Jr. Day:

“Never, never be afraid to do what's right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake”

“This is a time for vigorous and positive action.”

“An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity”

Presentation

Mike Brown gave a fun presentation on “The Greatest Show on Earth – How I Accidently Became an Airshow Photographer.”

Mike has always had an interest in planes and photography since he was a boy. He started flight school in 1977 and 17 years later got his pilot’s license. Several years ago, he noticed an airshow in Lakeland, Florida that sounded like fun. Ever since he’s been invited to take pictures of the planes and participants at the Sun ‘N Fun Aerospace Expo. https://flysnf.org/  Mike shared a number of his amazing pictures and told some interesting stories.
